Rayogram Session

In this session we were shown how to set up the machines to create rayograms. This session was mainly for experimenting and seeing what effects i could create.

this was the test strip that i did, starting at one second then increasing by one second the darker it got. The darkest on this strip was 6 seconds and i still don't think this is quite as dark as i would have liked.

This photo was created by using some cat toys and exposed for 5 seconds.

The picture below is of a top i was wearing (with holes in it) the places where it is lighter is where i bunched it up a bit more. obviously so less light could get through.

                                  20 seconds         15 seconds         10 seconds         5 seconds

I think this design worked better exposed for a longer time as there is already a lot of different shades. This was exposed for 20 seconds, some bits look quite blurry however others you can see the fine detail, i like this effect but in future i want to play around with the aperture to create more in and out of focus rayograms.

These two pictures were made by exposing the paper for 20 seconds and dragging a necklace over it.
On the first one there was a piece of tracing paper there as well (large lighter area), however you can tell where the necklace has been. perhaps if i kept it in one place for longer it would have worked better.

I then tried another way, where i used a necklace and exposed the paper for 5 seconds, put it in a different position then exposed for another 5 seconds, then repeated this twice more. I really like the design created with this method, its really interesting and makes you look at it in so many different ways.

This was simply created with a lightbulb and 20 second exposure. i really like the shades that are on the bottom of the lightbulb, which you cant see very well in the daylight but obviously are more opaque than other parts of the bulb.
