Stop Motion Workshop
This is the first video we created in the animation studio. Its just a short series of stills arranged at 12 frames per second to give the illusion that the object is moving. We were given 2 characters to play with so we made it look like one was chasing another.
This is a very simple video however it gave me a good idea of how i could create my animation.
My First Animation (attempt)
This is a very short animation that i created with magnets on my fridge in 49 frames, I wanted to create a jumpy effect however i still think i should have used more pictures. Also the frames should be closer together because at the moment the are 0.4 seconds apart.
I created this animation on imovie as i have not got after effects yet on my home laptop.
This was just an experiment to see what an animation like this would look like and if i would be able to create one.
OK Go - End Love - Official Video
Im a big fan of OK Go, and realised that some of their music videos would be a good example of stop motion animation. just by using a lot of frames you can create something intriguing making the audience keep watching. Possibly confusing the audience slightly, like in this video where parts just look like they have been filmed (because they are so smooth) then others which are obviously jagged about to create something unreal, more of an illusion.
Stop motion researh
This is a short stop motion movie that i randomly came across on youtube, called Minilogue/hitchhikers choice- short version (longer on DVD). It is by a person called Kristofer Ström.
I looked at the youtube account of the user where i found this animation and realised it was the artists page.

He appears to do many animations and movies, especially music videos and cd artwork.
I really like the animation above as it looks so smooth, at first i couldn't work out what the artist was working on however later in the animation it shows him rubbing out part of an image so it seems like he is working n a dry wipe board. I hadn't thought of this before but i think it could be a really effective way of creating a stop motion animation.
I also carried on to look at some of his other work at http://ljudbilden.tumblr.com/.

listening again and again and againnnnnnnnnnnn..
I began by listening to the piece of music over and over and just noting down whatever words/ phrases came to mind. also what it made me feel.
The music is quite diverse, at the beginning it sounds like it is just a band practicing/ warming up to play the actual song.
At first this made me think of being sad/ someone being mocked because it sounds like people are muttering in the background, possibly about a main character.
Insecure Muttering Warming up
As you cant really make out what people are saying in the background it is unclear who it could be talking. It just sounds a bit masculine.
For this reason i had the idea of using different peoples facial features to create abstract and unrecognisable characters.
Trying to show how the music makes me feel through colour and image. Very very basic. Really just more experiments.
